Ngā Hapū o Ōtaki Children's Day – A Sweet Success!

Children’s Day in Ōtaki was nothing short of magical! Families, friends, and community members gathered for a day filled with laughter, fun, and creativity. The event was a true celebration of our young people, and among the many highlights were two fantastic stalls run by young entrepreneurs from the Ōtaki Kids Market—Harper and Lana.




Strength in Community – Collaborating with Ngā Hapū o Ōtaki

Ngā Hapū o Ōtaki dedication to supporting rangatahi and tamariki created a welcoming space where young people could shine. It was a privilege to be part of a day that celebrated young people, creativity, and connection, reinforcing the importance of community-led events that uplift and empower our young people.





Sweet Treats and Creative Delights

Harper and Lana brought something special to the event with their cupcake and lollipop decorating stalls. From colorful sprinkles to swirls of icing, kids had a blast creating their own edible masterpieces. The joy on their faces as they decorated (and, of course, tasted!) their treats was priceless.


Harper, known for her gourmet cupcakes, showcased her baking expertise while helping children decorate their own delicious creations. Meanwhile, Lana’s lollipop decorating station was a huge hit, with bright and playful designs turning simple sweets into works of art.





A Celebration of Young Entrepreneurs

It was inspiring to see these two young stallholders in action, confidently running their stalls and sharing their passion with others. Their success at Children's Day is just another example of how the Ōtaki Kids Market continues to foster creativity, business skills, and confidence in our young entrepreneurs.


A huge thank you to everyone who came along, supported Harper and Lana, and made the event such a success. Ngā Hapū o Ōtaki Children’s Day was a wonderful reminder of the talent and spirit in our community, and we can’t wait for more opportunities to celebrate our young stars!
