Young Otaki local Bailey Johns is quickly becoming a canoe polo champion, winning school qualifiers and scoring gold at nations. The Otaki Women's Community Club is proud to support Bailey on her Canoe Polo career!
New Zealand Secondary School Qualifiers
Mid-October Bailey and the rest of her Otaki Combined Polo team travelled to Fielding for New Zealand Secondary Schools qualifiers, where they place 1st of 8 teams in their division.
Bailey was highest goal scorer out of all 3 divisions.
New Zealand Secondary School Nationals
Weekend just gone, they played in the New Zealand Secondary School Nationals and won Gold in their Division with Bailey scoring 3 of their 7 goals in the Grand Final.
Bailey placed 5th highest scorer out of a total of 96 players.
Women's B Grade
She is currently training twice a week in Palmerston North for Manawatu Kiwi Canoe Polo where she is trialing for Women's B Grade. This is 2 Grades above where she played in the 23/24 National League and only 2 Grades below National representatives.
At the age of 12 if she is picked to play Women's B, she will be one of the youngest players in club history to play in National League.
