Welcome to the Camping and Craft Expo, below are all the details for stall holders. The Expo will go ahead, rain or shine. We are looking forward to you joining us.
ROAD CLOSURE
The small access road between the Carpark and the Grass area will be closed on Friday evening, and will reopen again around 5pm on Sunday. Access to the car park will be via Arthur Street, which is accessed at the lights on the main highway. Follow Arthur Street round to the right and drive along to behind Riverstone Café.
This will allow pedestrian access between The Camping Expo on the grass area and the Craft Market on the carpark. Food Trucks will be located on the closed road area.
On Arrival
Traffic Management by the Māori Wardens
The Māori Wardens are our traffic management team on the day. Please read the information below regarding gaining access to the car park.
Vehicle Space stalls – Nos. 3-14, 17-18 and 31-32
If you have a vehicle space stall you will be issued with a blue card by the Māori Wardens before you enter the carpark.
No Vehicle Space Stalls – 1,2, 13 and 19-30
When you arrive at the entrance, please tell the Māori Wardens your name and stall name/type. They will give you a yellow card. Please hold onto this card and hand it back to the Māori Wardens when you leave the carpark to park your vehicle.
Set up for carpark stalls
Please refer to the site plan to see where your allocated site is located. Please note you may not be in the same spot if attending both days.
Vehicle Stalls
Access for set-up and unloading on the car park:
Vehicle Space stalls – Nos. 3-14, 17-18 and 31-32
Access to the car park will be via Arthur Street, which is accessed at the lights on the main highway. Follow Arthur Street round to the right and drive along to behind Riverstone Café.
If you have a vehicle space, please ensure you are on site before 8.45am.
Non-Vehicle Stalls
If you do not have a vehicle space – sites 1-2, 13 and 20-30, please ensure that you are unloaded, and your car is removed from the car park area before 9.15am. This will allow us to move the food trucks in place on the closed road area.
To avoid congestion, if your site is along the roadside 19-30 you can drive onto the verge along the roadside, unload over the fence and then remove your vehicle from the roadside before setting up your stall.
Marquee Set up
You will need to secure your marquee with leg weights, the ground is too hard for pegs.
If you have a car park space, you can secure the back half of your marquee to your car and the front of the marquee with leg weights.
If you are in a non-car park space, you will need to use leg weights to secure your marquee.
If you are near the fence on the main roadside, you can use bungee cords to secure the back half of your marquee to the fence and leg weights for the front.
Please ensure the marquee you are bringing fits within the site booking you have made, sites are 3x3 or 3x6.
Top Tip: If you are bringing a marquee which requires manual assembly, please factor this into your set up time.
Generators / Power
Please note that there is no power available at the Ōtaki Market, stallholders are required to provide their own generators if electricity is needed for their stalls. We recommend ensuring that your generator is quiet and efficient to minimize noise disruption for visitors and fellow vendors. This policy allows the market to maintain its relaxed, community-oriented atmosphere while accommodating the diverse needs of our stallholders.
Pack down for carpark stalls
Remember that the market is open from 10am – 4pm on both days. Pack-down is from 4pm.
We look forward to seeing you over the Camping Expo and Craft Market weekend.
STALL HOLDER Parking
Otaki Train Station: There is plenty of free parking available in Otaki, and we recommend once you have unloaded you park your car at the Otaki train station. This is a safe place to leave your car, and is only a very short walk to the market site.
60 Minute Parking zone: Please be mindful of the 60-minute parking zone behind Riverstone Cafe. This parking zone is monitored, and we'd hate for you to get a ticket!
Main Highway: This is a perfect spot for customers to the market and other shops on the main highway. We kindly ask you do not park on the main highway and leave these spaces for customers.
Retailers' car parks: Please do not park in the other retailer's car parking space, such as New World and Hunting & Fishing. We love our neighbors and want to ensure their parking is reversed for their customers.
FIRST AID
A first aid truck will be available and run by the Māori Wardens, located near the 60-minute parking.
RUBBISH AND RECYCLING
The Paraparaumu Air cadets will be monitoring the recycling and waste stations.
Otaki Market Team
If you have any inquiries or questions on the day, please speak to the Volunteers of the Otaki Market who will be wearing Hi-Vis or the Māori Wardens.
